How to determine what talent is needed.
Make sure you have the right talent, at the right level and in the right areas of your organisation. Management consulting firm McKinsey provides questions to help guide decisions on staff and skills. First, three questions need to be asked when considering them. What positions or specialisations are represented within the team? What positions need to be filled? Are there gaps in required competencies? Once you’ve answered these, you can then focus on the skills needed for a specific role. Are there skills gaps? What are the strongest skills represented within the company/team? What is the company/team known for doing well? How are skills monitored and assessed?
