Introduce employee incentive schemes to motivate staff to hit specific business goals. Once business and individual objectives have been identified consider whether to introduce incentives to achieve these, and, if so, what kind of incentives are appropriate. Management Today emphasises that “if your key objective is more about motivating your staff to make small improvements, your choice of rewards will be very different from a scheme which really stretches the participants in either behaviour or achievement”. As all employees will have individual tastes, providing a choice of reward is important. Examples include: vouchers, cash, experience days, or incentive travel.
