Make sure your data is safe

Protect your data when collaborating with external companies. Sharing data with third parties could leave your company vulnerable to data breaches, so you need to take steps to increase security. Ensure any agreement with a third party has a clause which protects you against financial penalties should your partner be found to be responsible for the breach. Also investigate whether the third party can be trusted to handle data securely, restrict areas of the business that it has access to, regularly audit your own data storage and apply the same internal security protocols to external partners.
