November and February are not traditionally busy times for hospitality businesses in Cornwall. However, an innovative approach taken by The Olde House has been successful in improving off-season demand for the forward-thinking family business.

The Hawkey family have two sides to their business – a working farm, which has been in the family for three generations, and a collection of self-catered cottages. While they’ve made substantial investments in a new swimming pool and spa facility, it’s one of their smaller changes that is worth taking particular note of.
