Local Enterprise Partnerships
Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) are locally-owned partnerships between local authorities and businesses. They play a central role in determining local economic priorities and undertaking activities to drive economic growth and the creation of local jobs. LEPs were set up in 2011 by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and there are now 38 local enterprise partnerships in operation.
Detailed information regarding the role of LEPs, their activities and additional aspects, such as the £1.4bn Regional Growth Fund, are covered in the White Paper from BEIS.
Growth hubs are local public/private sector partnerships led by the Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs).
They join up national and local business support so it is easy for businesses to find the help they need. There is a network of 39 hubs – and we have highlighted the growth hubs nearest to you so you can access relevant growth hub websites quickly.
Growth hubs work across the country with local and national, public and private sector partners – such as Chambers of Commerce, FSB, universities, Enterprise Zones and banks, co-ordinating local business support and connecting businesses to the right help for their needs. They are locally driven, locally owned and at the heart of the government’s plan to ensure business support is simpler, more joined up and easier to access.
Whatever your business needs – access the support to start up, scale up, and be the business.
