Sponsor high-performers to attend training courses

How to create development opportunities.

Motivate and reward high-performing employees by sponsoring training courses. A case study from global consulting firm McKinsey suggests that high-performing individuals benefit between three and five times more than others from training and take the extra step of sharing useful information with others in the organisation. McKinsey also concludes that picking the right metrics is key to creating real value from training. The firm recommends identifying the most important and specific skills you want to develop, alongside the performance-enhancing skills employees currently lack, and then tracking the impact of training afterwards.
