Think local for success with unusual export countries

Red tape, complex regulations and confusion over which authority to approach regarding which issue can make exporting to any country, especially those in the developing world, difficult, time consuming and expensive.

Indigo software which specialises in developing warehouse management software, has found that working with local partners has helped it to manage its exports and expansion in the Philippines.

“My big tip for anyone interested in doing business in the Philippines is to make sure you really understand how things work from a legal point of view and to engage a local company to assist you with the set up and registration. Trying to do this without local knowledge is almost impossible,” said Mike Hill, CEO of Indigo Software Asia Pacific. “We used an advisory agency to help us with the company set-up and they also continue to support us with the day to day administration of the office, including payroll and finance.”
