"The productivity performance of the UK economy will be the single most significant factor in driving the growth agenda and social prosperity."

In April 2015, Sir Charlie Mayfield and Sir Richard Lambert hosted a breakfast to bring together some of Britain’s most senior business leaders to discuss what businesses could do about the productivity problem. How good is your business really?: Raising our ambitions for business performance is an evidence-based report written by the Productivity Leadership Group in 2016. The findings and recommendations from this report led to the foundation of Be the Business in 2017.

These two drivers are central to Be the Business' mission today.
